ELM Coordinator Hired

ELM Coordinator Hired

January 1, 2021

The ECA Board and the ELM committee would like to welcome Shari Pitka of Community Landscape Management to the position of ELM Coordinator. The HR Committee received numerous resumes of well qualified people and Shari stood out amongst them.

Shari has run Citadel’s ELM program for 6 years, planning the summer flower plantings and the winter displays, working with the contractors and the city, as well as keeping the Board of Directors informed and engaged. She obtained her Master Gardener certification in 2009 and is “very passionate about community landscapes” and enjoys “when people feel proud to come home to their beautifully landscaped communities.”

Shari has extensive knowledge of plant material and worked seasonally at Sunny Side Greenhouse answering customer phone queries about plant selection and problem solving. She hand-picked the display materials in Citadel, always appreciating suggestions from the community and the Board.

Due to ordering timelines, this summer’s plantings have largely been determined, so Shari’s first plans will be for next winter’s planter displays. In the meantime, she will interact with our contractor, ensuring that the ELM program is implemented as intended and to a high quality. We look forward to a successful working partnership!
