ELM Report – January 2021

January 22, 2021

Jo-Ann Wither, Chair

Welcome to a new year 2021!

December was a busy month finalizing the 2020 ELM year and planning for 2021.

This Winter we will be staying in our homes practicing safe health routines.  The community will be busy with many people out enjoying our walkways and parks.  Our winter displays will add a touch of beauty to your outings.  If you see any damaged planters or people helping themselves to our display items please contact AskELM@edgemont.ab.ca  We collect our reusable display items each Spring for re-use the next winter. The disposable items are recycled as per the City of Calgary’s recycling program. The Winter displays will remain in the planters until about April when the Spring thaw begins.

2020 was a spectacular year for the floral displays.  We also achieved very positive results for the 5-year re-affirmation vote. We look forward to 2021 being just as successful.

The ECA and ELM committee are also looking to hire a program manager for the period of March to December, 2021. This is a part-time, year-round position with seasonal workload fluctuations. Look for the advertisement in this newsletter. Resumes are due by January 15th.
