News from Mother Mary Greene School

February 25, 2020

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled spring!  At MMG we finished off February celebrating Shrove Tuesday with delicious pancakes and sausages provided by the Knights of Columbus.  Following that was Ash Wednesday to kick off the Lenten season in preparation for Easter.  The music reveal for our Opera “The Golden Unicorn” was held on February 28th and everyone is very excited as we work hard towards our production in June.

In April we enthusiastically anticipate our annual MMG Family Dance which is a yearly highlight and we thank all our families and staff who volunteer to make that a success.  Special thanks also to our MMG alumni from Tom Baines who always come back to volunteer for us.

Our “green thumbs” at school are hard at work preparing for the growing season with many ideas for our outdoor garden space.  Along with that, the Friends of MMG Playground Committee is planning a Growing Smiles plant fundraiser… stay tuned for details on how to participate with us and purchase some top-notch plants for your gardens!  Proceeds will go towards our playground fundraising efforts.

To date we have successfully partnered with the Parks Foundation to start planning a new playground for 2021. We would love to have companies support us with donations of materials or assistance (such as cement or excavating).   Mother Mary Greene is proud to work towards an inclusive playground to serve the needs of all children in our Edgemont community.  We love Edgemont!
