The disc golf team has been busy preparing and planning for the new season of disc golf. The weather
has cooperated and people have been getting in games throughout the winter. Unfortunately someone
decided to take out their furies on one of our baskets and there was cosmetic damage done to hole ten.
An hour with a hammer and some pliers repaired most of the damage and the function of the basket
was never impeded. If you see someone vandalizing our baskets or course please call 911 if it is a live
attack or email [email protected]
We are consulting with the city on the design of the throwing pads and hope to have these installed in
the early summer once a plan is agreed to. We are leaning to inset wooden frames with an Astroturf
material on top, a common design. We are also looking at finalizing signage, putting in wood chips
around the baskets, and if money allows installing a bicycle rack.
The first official event of the season will be a youth event in early May, see attached link,
https://www.facebook.com/events/912169459659894 It is being put on by Alberta Youth Disc Golf,
they had a well attended event up there last year.
